If you make a habit of just going back to homestead every lv you gain and do all your crafting/selling then it makes the game flow much better.Įdit: there is also an undead dude running around outside of Hunter's Edge that sells some great stuff that shuffles every level. Also just dump all their stat points into Str so they don't ever get overburdened. I give the thief +5 into lore and barter and use him to identify and sell to the "secrets" person every level I gain (she sells books that respawn every level that give +1 skill/att) and I give the ranger a +5 into craft and black and use her for crafting. I only ever use Mad/Jah so the "ranger/thief" get the shaft (they are spec'd terrible IMO). When I identify stuff I slip on 2 Loremaster rings and can ID level 5 items. And the final one is found inside the Energy Chest between the electrified cabinets which contains an Eternal Artefact (Armor). Also the Scientist Talent and gear will add to crafting so never spend more than 3 actual points in any Crafting skill. In the Doctor's Black House, go down to the cellar and in the very middle of the room where unique armor pieces are located, you will find 2 Eternal Artefacts (Armor) and 1 Eternal Artefact (Weapon). You can spare 1 point in crafting to do the basics but later you'll need more, although normal loot items are good enough to get through the game. Then dismiss them again and just pick them up when you need to craft. You can hire and fire at will so if you ever want to do crafting just hire an NPC (who will be level one) then dismiss them in the Hall of Heroes THEN re-invite them back and they will instantly level up to your level and you get to distribute their points, so THEN you make them your crafter. If you sit and wait a while (or it may have already happened) a room opens up in your homestead where you can hire NPC's. You're still in the first part of the game.
